If you have never listened to “Blowin’ In The Wind”, by Bob Dylan, please refrain from reading until you do so.
“The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.”
Bob Dylan’s hit song hits home. Ask Sam Cooke, famous music artist and civil rights activist. It could be argued that his song, “A Change Is Gonna Come”, was in response to the probing questions asked by Dylan in “Blowin’ In The Wind”.
Questions like—
“How many years can some people exist
Before they’re allowed to be free?
How many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn’t see?”
Carl Jung once said, “To ask the right question is already half the solution of a problem.” But what is the real problem? According to Dylan, the answers are nowhere to be found. They are blowin’ in the wind.
Jung may believe that (maybe Dylan does too), but I believe that a change is gonna come, and I am not hoping in men to bring about that change. Hear the words of the Prophet:
“For a people shall dwell in Zion, in Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers you. And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet your Teacher will not hide himself anymore, but your eyes shall see your Teacher. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.” Isaiah 30:19-21
